Naomi Sablan: Producer, Adam Scott’s Wife, and Creative Partner

Written byShahmeer Khan Hours September 23, 2026October 2, 2026

Naomi Sablan, who also works under the name Naomi Scott, is a film and television producer with more than two decades of experience behind the camera. She is married to actor Adam Scott, but her career has its own clear path, from early work on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to independent films, television, and the 2026 SXSW title The Saviors.

Her work says more about her than a celebrity marriage does. She has helped shape projects from the first stages of an idea through production, often choosing stories that mix comedy with awkwardness, emotion, or darker themes.

A Start in Television

Sablan grew up in Northern California and entered entertainment through television. In a 2017 SAGindie interview, she said she joined Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003, during its first year on air.

She started as an assistant and soon moved into producing. The show was new, the pace was fast, and the team had to learn as they went. That early experience gave her a practical education in live and late-night television.

She later worked on comedy projects including The Andy Milonakis Show. By the mid-2000s, she had already spent years learning how shows are built away from the camera.

Building Gettin’ Rad Productions

After years together, she and Adam started Gettin’ Rad Productions in 2012. The company gave them a place to develop ideas as creative partners.

One of its first major projects was The Greatest Event in Television History for Adult Swim. The comedy specials carefully rebuilt the opening credits of old TV shows, turning a simple joke into something strange, detailed, and memorable.

The company then moved further into film. The Overnight premiered at Sundance in 2015. Other People followed in 2016, and Fun Mom Dinner arrived at the festival in 2017.

That run put her firmly inside the indie film world. It also showed that her interests were broader than one type of comedy.

Films That Mixed Humor With Something Heavier

The Overnight, directed by Patrick Brice, follows two couples through a night that becomes more awkward and intimate than expected. Adam Scott, Taylor Schilling, Jason Schwartzman, and Judith Godrèche starred.

Other People moved in a more emotional direction. Chris Kelly wrote and directed the film, with Jesse Plemons playing a comedy writer who returns home as his mother is dying. Molly Shannon played the mother.

Sablan told SAGindie that the script made her laugh while also hitting her emotionally. That response helps explain why the company backed a film that felt different from its earlier work.

Fun Mom Dinner brought another shift. Julie Rudd wrote the script, Alethea Jones directed, and Toni Collette, Molly Shannon, Bridget Everett, and Katie Aselton led the cast.

She wanted a woman to direct the female-led story. She later said Jones understood the material right away. The film became another Sundance premiere and added to a run of projects built around distinct voices rather than one fixed formula.

What Producing Looks Like in Her Career

Producing can disappear behind the finished film, but Sablan has spoken openly about the work itself. Her SAGindie interview covered budgets, directors, music costs, scripts, and the choices needed to keep a project moving.

Her role often overlaps with Adam’s career, but the two have worked in different areas even when they share a project.

He may act, direct, or produce. She has spent much of her career developing material, putting teams together, and helping projects reach the screen.

Their company also produced Ghosted, the Fox comedy starring Scott and Craig Robinson. The series took them back into network television after several years focused on independent film.

The Saviors and a Return to the Festival Circuit

In 2026, she returned to a major festival with The Saviors, which had its world premiere at SXSW. SXSW lists Naomi Scott and Adam Scott among the film’s producers.

Kevin Hamedani directed the comedy, science-fiction, and thriller hybrid. Adam Scott and Danielle Deadwyler play an estranged couple who rent part of their home to a brother and sister, then begin to suspect something strange is happening.

The cast also includes Theo Rossi, Kate Berlant, Nazanin Boniadi, Daveed Diggs, Ron Perlman, Colleen Camp, and Greg Kinnear.

The film fits much of her earlier work. It blends humor with tension and discomfort instead of staying inside one simple genre.

A Marriage That Grew Alongside Two Careers

Sablan met Adam Scott in Los Angeles in 1998 through friends. They married in 2005, before several of the roles that later made him widely recognizable.

Parks and Recreation, Step Brothers, Party Down, Big Little Lies, and Severance all came later or grew in importance after the marriage began.

Their relationship started before the biggest wave of fame. They spent years building separate careers while also finding ways to work together.

They have appeared at premieres and award shows, but neither has made the marriage the center of their public identity.

Family Life With Graham and Frankie

The couple have two children, Graham and Frankie. They have kept both children mostly outside public attention.

Adam has said there is no pressure for either child to enter entertainment. He has spoken more about the people they are becoming than about any career path they might choose.

That approach fits the way the family lives in public. Both parents work in Hollywood, yet their children have not become part of a publicity cycle.

Why She Is Sometimes Called Naomi Scott

Sablan worked under her birth name early in her career and has also used Naomi Scott professionally after marriage.

That can cause confusion because actress and singer Naomi Scott became famous through Aladdin, Power Rangers, and Charlie’s Angels.

They are two different people.

The producer credited on projects such as The Overnight, Other People, Fun Mom Dinner, Ghosted, and The Saviors is Adam Scott’s wife and creative partner. The actress Naomi Scott has a separate acting and music career.

A Career That Has Kept Moving

Her path has moved from late-night television to indie film, network TV, and festival releases. She has worked across comedy, drama, and genre projects without turning herself into an on-camera personality.

That makes her story quieter than Adam Scott’s, but not smaller.

Her professional record includes years of producing, three Sundance premieres in a row, a shared production company, and a 2026 SXSW world premiere. At home, she and Adam have also built a marriage that has lasted more than 20 years while raising two children.

The public may know her first through a famous spouse. Her work gives a fuller picture: a producer who has spent much of her adult life helping stories reach the screen.
